MS Teams | Brightspace and MS Teams integration options

There is an easy way to create and share a Teams meeting link from within MS Teams app and publish it in your Brightspace course. In this article you will find instructions about how you can do it:

Steps in MS Teams

  1. Go to "Calendar" and click on the time slot you want the meeting to take place
  2. Enter a meeting title
  3. Do NOT add attendees or location
  4. Click on "More options"
  5. Toggle "Teams meeting" ON
  6. Click on "Meeting options"
  7. Here you can setup your meeting based on your preferences. For example: whether or not participants can use the microphone, who can present, who is the co-organizer, whether chat is available, whether a notification should be visible when participants join or leave (disruptive in large groups), etc. Review these options.
  8. Click the Apply button
  9. Click the Save button
  10. Click on the created meeting event in the calendar
  11. Click the arrow next to the join button and choose "Copy join link"

Steps in Brightspace

  1. Go to the Brightspace course, in Content go to the module where you want to publish the meeting link
  2. Click the Upload/Create button and choose "Create a link"
  3. Enter the meeting title
  4. Paste (ctrl-v) the join link from step 11 into the URL field
  5. Click the Create button
  6. Go back to the Content module, review the meeting link
  7. Optional: click the arrow next to the meeting name, choose "Edit properties in place," and enter a description
