Adding Content to a Course | About OneDrive content in Brightspace

OneDrive is a cloud service from Microsoft that offers a storage capacity for your files. WUR offers to all WUR employees and students access to Onedrive for Business by default as long as the WURnet account is valid.

OneDrive has been integrated with Brightspace and provides lecturers with a direct access to the content of the OneDrive. That does not mean, however, that the Brightspace content appears in OneDrive, or vice versa. This is because each OneDrive that WUR provides to its employees and students is a personal account.

For general information on WUR OneDrive please consult the FAQ manual of Servicedesk IT which is located on their Sharepoint or Intranet.

When to use WUR OneDrive for your Brightspace course

OneDrive can be used, for example when you need to share a large amount of data with your students, or require collaboration of different users in one file, or the file format is not supported for upload to Brightpsace. Because OneDrive is an independent platform from Brightspace it allows upload of different types of file formats and file sizes, even if they are not supported by the Brightspace platform (Which files are supported by Brightspace?).

How to access WUR OneDrive

OneDrive is an online platform that can be accessed anytime and from anywhere. For sharing files to your Brightspace course you have two options on how you can access your OneDrive content. In the manual How to access OneDrive files in Brightspace you can follow the step-by-step instructions for both options.

How to share content on the WUR OneDrive

Content uploaded to the WUR OneDrive is uploaded to your personal WUR OneDrive. You can, however, share the content from your personal WUR OneDrive with your Brightspace course participants. The manual How to share OneDrive files to Brightspace provides an overview of different options of sharing OneDrive content, and guides you step-by-step through each sharing option.
