YuJa | How to add a single YuJa video to Brightspace

There are two ways of adding a single YuJa video to your Brightspace course.

How to add a YuJa video to a (sub)module

The video below explains how to add a video to a (sub)module.

To add a video as a separate item to your course, in the green navigation bar:

  1. Click on Content
  2. Select the (sub)module where the video needs to be added 
  3. Click on Existing Activities

A drop-down menu will appear, scroll all the way down.

4.     Click on YuJa Media Chooser 

Access YuJa Media Chooser

You will be redirected to the Media Chooser pop-up window, where you can choose the video you want to add.

You can use the Search bar to look for the video. In the article How to search videos in the YuJa Media Chooser you will learn about searching videos in YuJa.

  1. (Optional) Click on the More filter icon for a more specific search if you get multiple results when you search for a video
  2. Click on the video you want to add
  3. Click Insert Content

The video will be placed in the (sub)module.

Now you can adjust the title of the new YuJa topic.

  1. Click on the downward arrow close to the title
  2. Click on Edit Properties in Place

The view will change. You are now in the Edit Properties in Place mode.

  1. Click on the title
  2. Write your new title

To exit the Edit Properties in Place mode reload the Brightspace page.

When you add a video to your Brightspace course, this video will be automatically added to the YuJa channel of the course.

How to add a video to a file

A video can be added in two ways to a file:  

Embedded as a thumbnail

Go to the module in your content where you want to add the file with an embedded video.

  1. Click on Upload/Create
  2. Click on Create a File

  1. (Optional) Select a template
  2. Click on Insert Stuff

Selecting a template will greatly improve the layout of your Brightspace page.

  1. Select YuJa Media Chooser

You will be redirected to the Media Chooser pop-up window, where you can choose the video you want to embed.

You can use the Search bar to look for the video. In the article How to search videos in the YuJa Media Chooser you will learn about searching videos in YuJa.

  1. (Optional) Click on the More filter icon for a more specific search if you get multiple results when you search for a video
  2. Click on the video you want to add

Would you like to change the embed size of the video? Check the steps below:

  1. (Optional) Click on the three dots in the right upper corner of the selected video
  2. (Optional) Click on Select Embed Size to change the embed size
  1. Click Insert Content
  1. Click Insert again

The video will be embedded in the file.

  1. Click on Insert Quicklink

  2. Click on YuJa Media Chooser

You will be redirected to the Media Chooser pop-up window, where you can choose the video you want to link.

  1. (Optional) Click on the More filter icon for a more specific search if you get multiple results when you search for a video
  2. Click on the video you want to add
  3. Click Insert Content

The video is added as a quicklink.

  1. Click Save and Close

When you add a video to your Brightspace course, this video will be automatically added to the YuJa channel of the course.
