Groups | How to enrol / unenrol students to a Brightspace Group

Teachers (teaching assistants, lecturers, and course coordinators) are able to enrol and unenrol students to a manual or self-enrollment group. This article will provide you the steps on how to do that. There are 2 options; changing group enrolment using a specific group (preferred if enrolment needs to be changed in one group only), or using the group category (preferred if enrolment in multiple groups needs to be changed).

This article shows how to:

Enrol and Unenrol students

Navigate to your course, in the green navigation bar

  1. Click on Communication, a drop-down menu will appear
  2. Click on Groups
Click on Communication in the navigation bar and Select Groups

Now, either continue to using a specific group if enrolment for only one group should be changed, or use the group category if multiple group enrolments need to be changed.

Using a specific Group

In Manage Groups,

  1. Click on the group name that you want to enrol / unenrol the user

  1. Click on Enrol Users
Click on Enrol Users
  1. Check the tick-box next to the user name when you want to enrol them, and Uncheck the tick-box when you want to unenrol them
  2. Click on Save
 Check the tick-box next to the user name when you want to enrol them, and Uncheck the tick-box when you want to unenrol them, then Click on Save
Using the Group Category
  1. Click on the downward arrow next to the group category, and
  2. Click on Enrol Users
Click on the downwards pointing arrow next to the group category, and then Select Enrol Users

Now, an overview of all users is provided with different columns for all groups.

  1. Tick the boxes to enrol the students in the corresponding group (column name)
  2. Click Save
Tick the boxes to enrol the students in the corresponding group (column name) then Click on Save
