How to export Survey reports

After you set up a survey report and students complete the survey, you can download the survey results in your computer as CSV, Excel or HTML files.

This article will show you how to:

If you plan to export reports from a survey you created, we highly recommend to design the survey with short-answer written questions. This is with the purpose of generating easily-readable reports after.

Setup survey reports

1.  Navigate to Assessment in the navigation bar

2.  Click on Surveys

3.  Click on the black arrow next to the survey title under the tab Manage Surveys. A drop-down menu will open

4.  Click on Edit

5. Navigate to the tab Reports Setup

6.  Click on Add Report. This will open the report setting-up page

7.  Enter the report name

8.  Select the report type;

  • Summary Report - Select this option to show a summary of all the responses received

Show aggregate data - to display summary data for: MC, TF, LIKERT, M-S, ORD, MAT

Show text responses - to displays individual responses for: WR, SA, FIB, MSA

Show signed comments - to show responses (with user data) for any written response questions in the survey with the 'Show signed comments' property turned on where the user has given permission to release their name with their response.

Show unsigned comments - to show responses (without user data) for any written response questions in the survey with the 'Show signed comments' property turned on where the user has NOT given permission to release their name with their response.

  • Individual Attempts - Select this option to show responses from each individual attempts from individual users

9.  Under the section Release, set the release date of the report. This can be set to immediately or to a specified date

10.  Scroll down to the section Release Report To and click here on the selectboxes of the groups of users that will have access to the report

11. Click on Save

Now, your report has been saved in your survey settings. You will see an overview of the report you just created in the Reports Setup tab

12. Click on Save and Close to save the changes and go back to the Surveys homepage

Export survey reports

To export a survey report in an excel format file, follow the next steps:

1.  Navigate to Assessment in the navigation bar

2.  Click on Surveys

3.  Click on the black arrow next to the survey title under the tab Manage Surveys. A drop-down menu will open

4.  Click on Reports

5.  Click on the report name

6.  Click on Generate CSV, on Generate Excel, or on Generate HTML to export the data in a .csv, .xlsx or .pdf file, respectively. A pop-up window will open to save the file in your computer

7. (Optional) Enter the time range of the attempts completion that you want to export under the section For attempts completed.

If no date ranges are added in step 7, the system will download the full report.

8.  Click on Done

Now you have downloaded your Survey Report!
