Virtual Classroom | Restricted meetings for group work
Brightspace Groups and Group categories are not recognisable by the Virtual Classroom. A workaround for this issue is to create a restriction based on Group Enrolment.Â

When creating a meeting in the Virtual Classroom, please make sure to select the option Invite Entire ClassÂ
Accessing Virtual Classroom via Content

Navigate to your course, in the green navigation bar,
1. Click on Content
2. Select the (sub)module where the Virtual Classroom meeting is located
3. Click on the downward arrow next to the Virtual Classroom name, a drop-down menu will appear
4. Click on Edit Properties In-place

Creating Group Restricted meetings
Additional settings will appear underneath the Virtual Classroom name,
5. Click on Add dates and restrictions...Â

In order to edit the restrictions settings, under Release Conditions
6. Click on Create

A pop-up window Create a Release Condition will open, under Condition Type
7. Click on the downward arrow, a drop-down menu will appear and
8. Select Group Enrolment

In the Condition Details section, under the heading Group
9. Click on the downward arrow, a drop-down menu will appear
10. Select a Group

11. Click on Create

The pop-up window will close,
12. Click on Update

The Group Restriction has been successfully created! The Virtual Classroom will only be seen by the students enroled in Group 1.Â
