Unicheck explained (Case Scenarios)
Unicheck is a plagiarism detection software that finds similarities, citations and references in texts. In Brightspace it is an External Learning Tool.
Unicheck is not as integrated into the Assignments as Turnitin® was.
In this article you can review how Unicheck works and different case scenario on how to set the settings for Unicheck assignments with step-by-step instructions.

It will replace Turnitin® starting from Period 3 (January 1st 2021).

Unicheck default settings
There is a fixed set of options for an assignment via Unicheck to be checked upon:
- Submissions from the Institutional Library
- Citations
- References
- Student pre-check
- System similarity settings
- Similarity results view option for students

The settings of a Unicheck assignment can always be changed even after creation of the assignment.
Draft vs Final assignment in Unicheck (Case Scenarios)
Below you can review some scenarios of settings for using the Unicheck for an assignment.
You will need to create a Unicheck assignment for each Draft and Final Unicheck Assignments.
For Similarity report (plagiarism check) only
In the table below you can see the differences in settings when using Unicheck to generate Similarity reports only of a Draft version and Final version of an assignment.
